Schedule of Drills for school year

The School Safety Committee should refer to REF-1314 to plan the drills that they need to conduct throughout the school year. Please keep in mind that drills should be conducted at times that do not disrupt instruction and allow schools to practice the skills. Many schools publish a memo to teachers reminding them of the schedule so they don’t schedule tests, etc. during drill times. When the Fire Dept comes by the school for its annual inspection they want proof that schools are conducting the required drills. That memo can serve as documentation for compliance with the Fire Code.
