Questions & Complaints

School Safety Committee Corner - July

As a member of the safety committee at your school site, your colleagues or co-workers may come to you to report a safety hazard at your site (Safety Alert 04-02 – Reporting Safety Hazards). According to your site’s Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), you may be the person responsible for reporting safety hazards to OEHS and/or conducting monthly site inspections to identify them yourself by using the facility inspection checklist, attachment E of the IIPP. Certain health and safety hazards require special reporting procedures such as indoor air quality (Safety Alert 05-02 – Reporting Air Quality and Health Concerns) and employee injuries to OSHA (Safety Alert 02-09 Reporting Employee Injuries to OSHA).

For more information on reporting safety hazards, please contact the Office of Environmental Health and Safety at (213) 241-3199 or http://www.lausd-oehs.org/questions.asp
